The Google AdWords Blog reminds its readers today about the valuable AdWords API that is available to its users. Personally, I haven't seen too many implementations of the Google AdWords API so I would be curious as to what people have done with this API to advance their AdWords campaigns. Also, if you didn't know already, Google Groups has a wealth information on every Google subject so if you can't find your answer through a traditional web search, try Google Groups.

AdWords ValueTrack Tag

The Google AdWords blog has posted a tutorial on tracking search and content clicks seperately by using the ValueTrack tag. Basically, by adding a querystring to your different URLs based on campaign, you'll be able to to utilize your web traffic logging programs to determine where the clicks are really coming from. It's a decent "hack" for AdWords users to understand what's actually driving their AdWords related traffic.

AdWords Displayed on All Google Properties

The Google AdWords team cleared up the issue of exactly where AdWords ads are displayed. Google states that not only will ads be displayed ont their major search engine pages, but also on other Google "properties" such as Froogle, Book Search and Local. This is good news to publishers as this will help them reach maximize exposure from choosing the Google network of products.

Google AdWords Specific Site Targeting

The Google AdWords blog offers some new information concerning a new AdWords feature - site specific advertising. With this new feature, you can now browse all over the Internet and when you see a site that uses AdSense, you can target your ads for that site! This is a great feature since there are definitely sites out there (money making websites for instance) where I would definitely want Hagrin.com to show up on (for freelance web design work). Not only can you now "bid" on keywords, but you can now bid on specific sites.

Google's Official AdWords Blog offers a few very helpful tips for testing your AdWords advertisement since many advertisers were having difficulty viewing their offerings. The blog entry points out that members can use their troubleshotting wizard and their Diagnostic Tool to help fine tune their online ads.

These are great tools to use any utilities that some online ad publishers do not have giving Google yet another edge in the online marketing game.
