Information Week has an article on the major Internet players coming together to develop an Open AJAX standard for developers. Spearheaded by the likes of Google and IBM, this open standard will be incorporated into open source IDEs such as Eclipse which should provide developers a more standardized way of writing Web 2.0 web pages. In addition, with this standardization, hopefully security issues will be addressed making AJAX a viable solution in the corporate arena. In addition, one of the major AJAX problems, scalability, should be addressed by these companies making AJAX a scripting tool capable of building robust applications.
